Optimum generation scheduling incorporating wind energy using HHO–IGWO algorithm

Abstract Recently, renewable energy participation is gaining importance in the existing power system. However, large penetration of these sources into system network may cause an imbalance supply and demand response. Unit commitment decision-making process which generating units are turned ON OFF at hourly interval as per load under certain constraints to provide economic scheduling. Thus, advanced intelligent approach needed cope with this combined unit problem a intermittent sources. This paper offers solution optimal scheduling by implementing hybrid Harris Hawks optimizer algorithm (HHO–IGWO). Standard IEEE systems 10-, 19-, 20-, 40 simulated. Further, test feasibility effectiveness proposed method, comparative analysis for 40-unit has also been performed penetration. The reveals that more efficient tackling presence wind source.
